Actress Mayim Bialik Finalizes Divorce

“Big Bang Theory” actress Mayim Bialik, who filed for divorce earlier this year, is now officially a single woman.  Her divorce from her husband of nine years was finalized on Thursday, June 6th.

Mayim and Michael Stone married on August 31, 2003, and have two sons together; Miles, born in 2005, and Frederick, born in 2008.  The couple announced last November they were divorcing, citing irreconcilable differences.  The actress wrote on her website, “After much consideration and soul-searching, Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce due to irreconcilable differences.  Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children.  It is not something we have decided lightly.”

Mayim is an actress known recently for her role as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler in “The Big Bang Theory, “ and previously for her role as Blossom Russo in the television series "Blossom,” which ran from 1990-1995.

According to Today.com, E! News obtained copies of the couple’s court documents and reports they have reached an agreement concerning property division, spousal and child support, as well as custody arrangements for their sons.

According to TMZ, the 37-year-old Bialik, has agreed to take the couple’s one bedroom apartment in Studio City, while Stone will be taking the couple’s home in Sherman Oaks.

Mayim stressed the important issue right now “is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible” for her sons, who “deserve parents committed to their growth and health.”

In her divorce proceedings, Mayim demonstrated how a couple not only can amicably divorce, but reach support, custody, and property settlement issues in a positive manner.
